Using Linux in the real world
The mini abstract:
The Water Studies Centre at
Monash University is developing a analyser system (nicknamed AFIMS) as the
front-end for a monitoring/process control system for efficient waste water
treatment.
This talk looks at why Linux was used in the project, some of the issues
involved in using Linux, Python and Java for the control software and
how to sell Linux to management for "real" world applications.
