SUSEstudio by Craig Wiley
As the blurb on the website says, SUSEstudio allows you to build an appliance or your own custom Linux distro with a few mouse clicks. Customize it to your heart's content, and share it with the world!
For Novell/SUSE, this is a very important step in the evolution of Linux into the much hyped "cloud". Tens of thousands of independent software providers have used SUSEstudio to create their own soft appliance consisting of an open source operating system and their application to provide turnkey ready to deploy solutions.
Craig Wiley from Novell will present and demo SUSEstudio. Craig runs the pre-sales support team at Novell Asia Pacific.
KDE Games Development by Ian Wadham
Ian will talk about what KDE is, as a bundle of software and as a project, and how you can become a KDE developer. The project involves hundreds of people, from all over the world, who hardly ever meet face to face ... and there are no managers. So how does it function and what holds it together?
Ian will go on to talk about development work in KDE 4 and what is currently happening in KDE Games.
Ian Wadham is a developer in the KDE Desktop project, working in the KDE Games module. Ian is not a very big wheel in the KDE environment, but he has a lot of fun anyway. He used to be a UNIX, C and Ingres guru at the Vic Gov Office of Housing, but is now a self-funded retiree and finds he has become a Linux and Windows illiterate ... :-)
He started as a programmer in 1964, and has always been a leader in introducing new technology into Australia, such as minicomputers, workstations, windowing systems, PCs and UNIX applications in business.

Parking can be found along or near Royal Parade, Grattan Street, Swanston Street and College Crescent. Parking within Trinity College is unfortunately only available to staff.
For those coming via Public Transport, the number 19 tram (North Coburg - City) passes by the main entrance of Trinity College (Get off at Morrah St, Stop 12). This tram departs from the Elizabeth Street tram terminus (Flinders Street end) and goes past Melbourne Central Timetables can be found on-line at:

Thanks for again organising some great speakers. I recall meeting Craig a couple of years ago at a Novell forum, it would be great to hear what he has been doing with cloud computing.
